Review by hotel critic
Nestled within the medieval heart of the charming walled city, our stay at Le Donjon - Coeur De La Cité Médiévale was an escapade into culinary delight and relaxation. As a French Riviera connoisseur, I was eager to savor the innovative creations by Chef Thomas Vonderscher, blending classicism with contemporary touches. The dining room metamorphosed into a captivating spectacle, where plates danced harmoniously with flavors like foie gras and spiced malbec jelly, and roast Quercy lamb accompanied by peas and beans infused with wild mint. The Hotel's Bar Bibliothèque offered a serene haven, aligning with nature, ideal for unwinding after indulging in the menu's seasonal surprises. Breakfast, above the European standard, set the tone for each day. A gastronomic haven, beautifully interwoven with the essence of the medieval citadel.
